ARTIST STATEMENT

MY INTENTION IS TO CREATE MEDITATIVE, PSYCHOACTIVE AND HEALING ART TO FULFILL AN IMBALANCED PERCEPTION IN ORDER TO CREATE HARMONY AND EQUILIBRIUM WITHIN AND WITHOUT.

In the midst of creation, the art I envision flows naturally from my mind through my pen onto paper. As I create art, I hope for others to not only see what my mind envisions but to personally perceive it through the lens of their true being. I invite the viewer to reevaluate themselves, analyze the world around them, while simultaneously being aesthetically enlightened by my work.

To do this, one must rethink their own understanding of themselves, of their visions, of their surroundings, of their thoughts. To be aware of who they are when viewing themselves in third person. To decipher the radical shifts within our personal realm and to balance them. I want the viewer to reassess and love themselves-to continuously work on this as a conscious effort to evoke positive change.

To treat yourself well is the first step to evolutionary change within yourself and society. It is difficult to alter the world practically without initially caring for the self from within. These concepts of balance and awareness are a common theme in most of my work, and my expectation is to appeal to all people and perspectives to promote this alternative pattern of thought and vision.

My own philosophy and interpretation of spirituality has all come from within. I enjoy attaching myself to the idea that we are our own Gods- frantically and beautifully confused in the paradoxical "chance" of having both free will and determinism being the movers of our universe. I like to conceptualize ideas of fate, that everything occurs all for a reason, even with suffering being inevitable as a result.

My artistic style is an homage to the importance of an intimate connection to your conscious mind.

One can see my incorporation of symbolism through elements of:
Emotion/consciousness (like love, suffering, simulation, nostalgia) in the figures/faces of abstract people. In the frequent repetition of eyes, encompassing visions and interconnectedness.
Geometry and abstraction in the shapes- triangles, circles, squaresfractals, spirals, flowers.
Synchronicity, balance, harmony, dynamism in the overall layout of each piece, the common use of reflection and patterns. The repetitive nature of swirls, lines, circles within circles, flow, preciseness, and elaborate detail.
Spirituality and the metaphysical in the third eye connection/power, intertwining lines, and detached in monochromatic form.
Surrealism and chaos in the warped design, the active commotion in emerging designs. Where your eye jumps from one place to the next in a way that is satisfying yet confusing.
